Inflation halved: Rishi has halved inflation to help working people with the cost of living

Inflation halved

Rishi Sunak has achieved his target to halve inflation.

He made halving inflation his top priority as Prime Minister because high inflation increase the cost of living, eats into your savings and pushes prices up – it makes it harder for you to buy a house or pay the mortgage.

So today’s news is good news for families across the country.

But Rishi Sunak won’t stop there because he recognises that many people are still feeling the effects of high inflation. He’ll keep working to reduce inflation further whilst supporting the most vulnerable with the cost of living.

That means: £2 bus fare caps are being extended. Cost of Living payments are being extended. And Rishi will keep helping people with their energy bills this winter.

This is on top of the support he’s already given families – now worth around £3,000 per household.
