Last summer, Labour asked for your trust. The country gave them a chance.
But poor pensioners didn’t deserve what happened next.
To pay for their reckless spending, Keir Starmer and Rachel Reeves cruelly snatched Winter Fuel Payments from millions of poor and vulnerable pensioners.
The impact is now clear.
Nearly 100,000 more pensioners were admitted to A&E this winter compared to last.
Thousands more went into debt or had to choose between heating and eating.
And Labour’s incompetence meant hundreds of thousands of pensioners who were still eligible missed out on payments.
On Thursday 1 May, millions of people across the country can vote for the first time since Starmer took this cruel decision. And only by voting Conservative can we send Starmer a message he can’t ignore.
While other parties make noise, as the official Opposition we’ve taken action.
- We’ve made these cruel cuts the focus of two national broadcasts, sharing the human stories behind the statistics with millions of people across Britain.
- We’ve organised debates and forced votes in Parliament. Conservatives spoke up for pensioners. Labour MPs sided with Starmer instead of their elderly constituents.
- We’ve launched a petition securing over 300,000 signatures, showing Labour the strength of feeling on this issue right across the country.
- We’ve met the pensioners who have been affected by Labour’s cruelty to show our support.
If Labour win more council seats this week, the media will say people have forgotten about Labour’s betrayal of pensioners. Instead, we need to hold Labour accountable for their harmful actions.
In most areas voting for other parties will simply divide the opposition, and let Labour get off the hook.
So send Keir Starmer a message he can’t ignore – vote Conservative on 1st May.
